I created a one page mock up using Figma, then created a prototype using Webflow.
Vicolo Tours offers customized private tours in Italy. My client Jeremy said he felt the current Vicolo Tours website was too simple and plain. Jeremy wanted the redesigned site to look richer and feel luxurious, but without making it look extravagant. It was important to give the user a sense of being in Italy, but without making the site look like a typical Italian theme website. The old site used maroon as the main color. Jeremy wanted to try a different color.

I started with a competitive analysis of other traveling and touring sites. I looked at luxurious five-star Italian hotels and restaurants. I created a mood board of images and ideas to capture my look and feel.
I created a simple pencil sketch of the text and image sections for desktop, tablet and mobile use.
To give the site a luxurious look, I decided to use two variations of purple. Purple expresses luxury and royalty. The two purple colors came from eye-dropping an image of a grape grown in an Italian vineyard. I wanted the site to have energy, cheer, excitement and adventure, so I used orange to compliment the shades of purple. To neutralize the purple and orange together, I used a beige color from an image of Italian ceramic tile.
The obvious choice for fonts would be using an Italian font, but because Jeremy did not want to website to look "too Italian". So I decided on a serif for headers and sans serifs for context.
The study bible marketers handed me three word documents containing light copy, a PDF sample excerpt and 3D graphics for the available editions. With the content in my hand, I began wireframing the landing page for desktop, tablet and mobile use.
